Description: I. RAMC men help refugees in a street in Douai to load both themselves and their belongings into a British Army lorry. As the last one is loaded the tailboard is closed up and the people wave as the lorry drives away. II. The main square at Lille has one side almost undamaged while the far side has been reduced to rubble. British soldiers clear a path through the rubble. Standing near an old German shelter a British soldier holds up for the camera, one after another, the flags of the chief Allies and the United States.
